George Harrison's Son: No Plan for The Beatles' Boys Group

I don't know what to feel about that, The G man was my fave artist from the Beatles so i think i might liked to have heard something the four offspring did just to see hear what it sounded like.

But i suppose that's not going to happen now.

This would be all kinds of awesome, even if the music were awful.

I quite liked Sean Lennon's debut album. Of course, that was 10 years ago ...

Zak Starkey was a solid drummer for Oasis and recent Who albums. I didn't know the others had a musical connection.

I didn't know about James McCartney or Zak Starskey, but I knew the others are musically talented. The only work I've heard from them is Dhani's contributions on George's final album, Brainwashed, and Concert for George.

I've always dreamed something like this would happen but I never realistically believed it would happen.

Zak drummed for The Who when they headlined at the Glastonbury festival a few years back. They were all kinds of awesome and Zak was a big part of that. The man can play!

But as to the "sons of Beatles forming a band" thing....I'm not too sure I'd like that. Too much of a shadow falling over them, if you know what I mean.

They should do it, just not advertise they are the Beatle Sons. Let it succeed or fail on its own merit.

Julian Lennon's singing voice is a lot like his dad's. Back in the day, there were even rumors that he would join the Beatles and take his late father's place...

The Beatles have some strong genes. Dhani is a ringer for his Dad. Sean and Julian look a lot like John. Even James looks a lot like Paul (except for the hair) Zak look similar to Ringo, but didn't get Ringo's nose. (He's is probably a better drummer). Not that looks traslate into talent/genius. James could sing like Linda!!!!

James McCartney played on his father's Flaming Pie album back in '97.

Dhani also contributed guitar on the Traveling Wilburys' remasters to finish up "Maxine" and "Like a Ship." I believe Dhani also played guitar on his father's last recorded song, "Horse to Water," as his father was too weak at the time to do anything but provide vocals. I'd like to see Dhani (George Harrison's son) record with Norah Jones (Ravi Shankar's daughter), just because I think that would be cool.

Zak Starkey, as mentioned, was Oasis' drummer for Don't Believe the Truth, but he was sacked by Noel for Dig Out Your Soul. (I'm not sure what the reason for the sacking was, but Starkey had said in interviews prior to that that he really felt unnecessary in Oasis as Noel is a multi-instrumentalist.) Starkey has also been with The Who since the early 90s, though he was unable to record Wire & Glass or Endless Wire because of his Oasis touring commitments. In neither case -- Oasis and The Who -- was Starkey an official member of the band; though Pete Townshend has invited Starkey to become a permanent member of the band, which Starkey has declined.

Lennon's sons have had musical careers that go back a long ways. Sean Lennon recently composed the music for Rosencrantz and Guildernstern are Undead.
