Gentlemen, I give you... the Voyagestar!

Death Ray

Commander
Red Shirt

If you want to reach Earth but don't mind taking the scenic route, the Voyagestar is the perfect blend of comfort, roominess, and sloth. Marrying Federation style with Colonial practicality, the Voyagestar knows that it's the journey that counts, not the destination. Available for 900 easy payments of 2000 cubits a month.

Fits together quite nicely. Not much big-picture structural difference between the two ship designs, is there?

They both have that "alligator-on-skis" look to them.

Some curious similarities between the bridge layouts as well:

Well, TOS BSG had heavy design elements done by Andrew Probert, and his contributions throughout Star Trek, up to early TNG, are well-documented.

Rick Sternbach had considerable overlap with Probert on Trek projects and was responsible for Voyager design.

So, there may have been some legitimate cross-pollination of ideas between the two artists that could have led to some accidental (or possibly quasi-intentional) design similitude.
