This week's choice, by request, is Henry Ian Cusick. Born Henry Ian Cusick Chávez in Peru, he is the son of a Peruvian mother and Scotch-Irish father. After moving to Spain, the family moved to Scotland and then Trinidad and Tobago. At age 15, he returned to Scotland. He spend 6 months at the prestigious Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, before he was kicked out. He then joined the Glasgow Citizens Theatre, where he stayed for a number of years. He has also performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal National Theatre, The Almeida, and the Liverpool Playhouse.
He then moved on to television and film, and had roles in shows such as "Casualty" and "The Book Club." In 2003, he was cast as Jesus in The Visual Bible:The Gospel of John. He also appeared as Theo Stoller in two episodes of season 5 of "24," and as one of the main villains in Hitman. He will also appear in the forthcoming direct-to-DVD film of "Dead Like Me."
But he is best known around the world for the role of Desmond Hume on the hit genre show, LOST. Originally a recurring guest star in the second season (for which he received an Emmy nomination), Cusick became a member of the main cast from season 3 onwards.
