Genesis Technology post Destiny?

One problem was that the 'Genesis Wave' series of books, despite it being a large event, really haven't been followed up on much at all since. I can't recall a single mention in another book since. This despite the fact that many Federation worlds were completely transformed by the changes.

I would like at least some mention as to what happened to those worlds, or if that whole thing is being written off as happening in an alternate universe (even though it's not).

"A Time to Sow", "A Time to Love" "A Time to Kill" and "A Time for War/A Time for Peace" all mention the Genesis Wave and the "Genesis Sector", including ongoing relief efforts (at least in "Love").

I'm sorry to derail the thread away from Genesis slightly, but just to reply to the "magical weapons/deus ex machina"argument. No,I'm not looking to give Starfleet an arsenal of magic wands, but sometimes I would like the authors to consider the tech available to our heroes the same way a cold-eyed Starfleet admiral would.
Personally,I'm sick of Starfleet acting like a wide-eyed gang of mooks in almost every combat situation.I hate to name names but Picards mission to the Borg cube in "Before dishonour"was so amateurish,I nearly threw the book aside. Why didn't Worf have that RPG he carried in that So'na movie(the title of which has evaporated from my mind)(damn early-onset alzheimers...)
edit;INSURRECTION(dammit)

I figure that the origins of "Genesis-Tech" will be dealt with as Vanguard continues to develop the meta-genome of the Taurus Reach.

Not sure if it'll be introduced into the 24th century fiction, but I wouldn't be against it as long as like Christopher said it doesn't give us supertech.

Maybe a low-grade form could be used to blunt the impact of such a "magical" technology existing in the hands of the Federation.

Ever since Kruge's "Tell me the secret of Genesis" I'm glad it was never mentioned again. What did he expect? That Kirk could tell him how to build the damn thing in a few sentences?
