General LV Convention Questions

SSOASS

So, at age 47 I am going to my first Trek (or really any non-work/fan) convention in Vegas this August with my wife

I am going through the DS9 documentary funding page .. the weekend convention pass with some DS9 perks.

I am not really that interested in autographs, a moderate interest in at least looking at the stuff for sale.

I realize I have probably the lowest level pass available ... how does it work for panels and stuff, I assume I will get a schedule when I get my pass?

We are thinking about half convention/half doing regular Vegas stuff (booze, food, gambling, maybe a show).

Any advice any vets would care to offer.

Stuff I would like to see are (in order)
1) DS9 related things (my favorite show of the bunch)
2) Info on Discovery
3) TOS/TNG stuff
4) ENT/VOY

Not really interested in the EU

Just really curious as to how it works and is there an advantage in staying in Rio versus on the strip (beyond location)

Thanks .. and I apologize if I missed this info in another thread

You have access to the two auditoria and dealer's room, along with any items in the corridors. You have to pay for any autographs photo ops and parties. The schedule is posted on the website a week ahead of time.
IMO it is more convenient, but.not cheaper to stay at the convention hotel.
