Gene Coon cameo?

I found this yesterday. The photo is from a website detailing the history of Desilu's 40 Acres Studio Backlot.

The screen caption is from The City on the Edge of Forever, the morning after McCoy arrives back in time. Could the man in the dark coat be Gene Coon? I've only seen two pictures of the man himself, but it looks like him to me.

So what do you guys think? Did the production crew make any on-camera appearances during the show's run?



(This is my first post, btw. I saw the movie over the weekend & forgot how much I loved the Original Show. )

Here are the 2 photos I found of Gene Coon, for comparison with the image in the link above. The more I think about it, the more I think it really could be him on screen. Mabye so?

Hmmm I don't know..there is a resemblance but it's a little blurred so hard to tell.

Coon sure went in for the strange patterened sportcoats. Is that how grownups dressed in the 60s?
