Answer this question honestly – do you read the small print when you buy games on the internet?
High Street retailing giant GameStation decided to put this to the test and inserted a new clause into their terms and conditions earlier this month that granted them legal rights to the immortal souls of thousands of their online customers. Here, in darkest legalese, is how they got away with such a heinous act:

I must admit I don't always read the full terms and conditions.

This is crazy. I'm not at all happy they even wrote such a thing.
It does raise a serious concern though, do you actually read the terms and conditions online when purchasing?
They could quite literally have you agreeing to anything and it would all be legal.

Be careful and be aware people.

Eh. if they can make letters of fire appear as a summons for a soul, i think we have bigger problems to worry about than a soul collection agency.

[Edit] Soul Collection Agency would be a great band name...

Somebody want to give me the legal definition of "immortal soul"? And suggest a means of collecting same?

This is hilarious. A very clever and subtle April Fool's gag.

They even provided an opt out and compensation for those who take such things with any seriousness (and for those who don't), so even those who agreed can change their minds.

As for me, no, I seldom read the agreements. I'm pretty trusting that way, and the agreements are there to protect the provider more than me for the most part.
