Representative Joe Baca (D-California) has introduced the Video Games Health Labeling Act of 2009 with the stated goal "To require certain warning labels to be placed on video games that are given certain ratings due to violent content."
If passed, the bill would require games rated T-for-Teen or higher to carry a label that would read, "WARNING: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behavior."

You would think that politicians would get bored of this and move onto something else. I guess not.

Of course not. This sounds important and socially conscious to the average non-playing voter, so its an easy way for a politico to get their name in the paper, attract the geriatric vote and be seen as someone who "takes a stand" on sensitive issues. Why would they move on?

^ WARNING: Excessive exposure to politicians and other political media can lead to feelings of frustration and eye rolling.

they should just call a game that. You know it would be awesome.

Or actually USE it to advertise the game. I think some show recently did this. Critics panned it, saying it was inappropriate and so on, and they used those quotes in their print ads. :p

That's pretty much the reason I bought Manhunt when it came out.

Exactly. We did something similar in a reelection campaign last year for a candidate I was working for for that very reason.

Er, that isn't exactly a good thing.
