I just learned that you can buy replicas of the Ion Nebulizer and Vox props from Galaxy Quest... and a miniature of the NSEA Protector.
Awesome.
Awesome.
Both Monsters in Motion (monstersinmotion.com) and Big Bad Toy Store (bigbadtoystore.com) are offering the vox/nebulizer set for $24.99.
Big Bad is offering the Protector for $37.99, which is $2.00 cheaper than Monsters' price.

I just picked up my Protector after having ordered it through Bookery Fantasy.
It's awesome. I already pitched the box. Yes, I'm a heathen, but I've wanted a display model of the Protector ever since I first watched Galaxy Quest, and darn it, I wanted to display it.
The box is very nice, though.
The model is much larger than I expected. The product descriptions online just say that the model is 1:1400 scale, but since I don't know the "real" ship's length, the scale didn't help me to estimate the size of the model. The model measures some 31 cm in length, so the "real" ship is about 434 meters long. A model length of 31 cm seems small, but the model "feels" larger, because of its shape.
One bonus is that the command ship can separate, and it "attaches" magnetically, so there are no unsightly pegs or holes.
The model looks very nice, especially for $40. It's every bit as nice -- if not nicer -- than the Art Asylum Trek ships. The Protector has no lights or electronics, but I don't miss them, especially because they probably would have required the "arc" pylons to be thicker.
I can't snap photos at the moment, because I'm swamped with MBA homework. Suffice it to say that the Pegasus Hobbies Protector model is worth its retail price.
