Galaxy class specs

I just had a random thought...how many rooms were there on the Galaxy class vessel? The Intrepid class had 257; has anyone counted the number on the Galaxy?

James

Umm, that probably depends on the day of the week.

I mean, the ship is supposed to have a great degree of internal modularity. Anything we might count from Sternbach or Wildfire blueprints might only hold true for a certain specific Galaxy at a certain moment. And a count of portholes would be completely futile.

That said, I'm sure somebody could do the counting from the above two blueprint sets. (But what is a room? Is the cabin of a crew member, possibly consisting of two to five separate rooms, considered one room or five?)

Yeah. No way in hell I'm counting all the rooms on those blueprints.

The number of compartments has got to be in the high five digits.

I've got the Sternbach blueprints and at one time I started to count all crew and civilian quarters on the ship just to see what kind of max capacity could be held on the ship which we know from the Tech manual (I think) is to be about 5000. I only ever got as far as around deck 8 but I can tell you that with the all the rooms upto that deck there was certanly more than enough room to house upto more than 5000 people, I think I got to around 2500 individual beds or so by that deck, can't remeber the number of rooms though.

Been meaning to try the counting again at some point when I have some free time.
