Galaxy 4 ep3 & The Underwater Menace 2 "not out in 2012" - DWM #444

In the latest issue of DWM, 2Entertain mention the two recently recovery missing episodes (Galaxy 4 episode 3 and The Underwater Menace episode 2) won't be released this year, and indications are they will be on separate DVDs. Apparently "there's one release that hasn't been announced yet that will provide a home for one of them".

My guess is still Galaxy 4 will be paired with The Tenth Planet and The Underwater Menace with The Ice Warriors.

Can't say I'm too surprised. I imagine most of 2012's schedule was already mapped out when these episodes were found, so logically they'd have to wait until 2013. Oh well, it just helps with 50th anniversary celebrations.

Plus considering there are only a couple of complete stories left to be released after the ones announced so far - Terror of the Zygons and I think a Pertwee/Master story - they'll be happy to have additional "new" material to release.

I hope they get the special treatment they deserve. Not many classic DVDs left in the run now are there?

I had a feeling that the two would probably be extras on the release of "The Tenth Planet" but having one on "The Underwater Menace" makes sense too.
