I admit I'm still halfway through the movie and although I was expecting Beltran, I was a little surprised to see Ed Bagley JR as a hippy walk in front of the camera. I was only beginning to wonder if Rob was going to share any scenes with Ed, when suddenly Ed's character begins to rape the female lead, when nearly immediately Beltran's character jumps him from behind and garrottes the lad to death with his own bead necklace.
I know Eating Raoul was produced in 1982 and Futures End is from 1996, so I am surely crying over spilt milk well, but at the time in Futures End if Chakotay had strangled Henry Starling to death I'm sure someone at home would have jumped for joy at recognizing the reference unless it was Ed's turn to choke the Indian as a turnabout play?
Either-way it's surely a lost opportunity.
