Funny or Die's SNL Presidential Reunion

I apologize if there's already a thread for this but I couldn't find it.

I discovered this from a CNN article:

Several "Saturday Night Live" stars have reprised their political alter-egos for a 6-minute video made by the creators and producers of FunnyOrDie.com.
With all the set-up of an "SNL" skit, the video shows what could happen if President Obama was somehow able to gather former presidents, dead and alive, into his White House bedroom for a “Presidential Reunion.”
Will Ferrell is back as George W. Bush, Darrell Hammond plays Bill Clinton, Chevy Chase is Gerald Ford, Dan Aykroyd is Jimmy Carter and Dana Carvey makes an appearance as the elder Bush president. Fred Armisen plays the President, Jim Carrey was tapped to be the spirit of Ronald Reagan and Maya Rudolph portrays a dumbbell-toting Michelle Obama.
Shot on Sunday in Van Nuys, California, “Presidential Reunion” is the first of a series of videos about financial reform to be released on the site.
Check out the video here.

It's good to see all of the SNL alum playing their respective Presidents again (although it's too bad we couldn't have Phil Hartman as Clinton), particularly Chevy Chase and Dan Akyroyd, although I think Dana Carvey stole the show from everyone else.

The article doesn't mention that Ron Howard directed this skit (someone in the comments points that out).

Anyway, I enjoyed it, but once again, it proved to me that the current SNL can't hold a candle to the show it used to be up until the 90's. Dan Akryod, Chevy Chase, and Dana Carvey stole the spotlight and it wasn't until we saw them that it actually got funny.

I was watching it at work, and at one point the connection wasn't so hot and it stopped to buffer - just as Chevy Chase was coming through the door, and I said to a coworker watching it with me, "Oh, you just know he's going right over that table." And somehow, that extra moment of anticipation made it even funnier when he did.

There's some funny behind-the-scenes clips from this on Funny or Die as well.

Funny or Die is definitely a site to watch, because of their ability to bring in big names for their videos. Anyone see the election video in which Ron Howard and Henry Winkler played Ritchie and the Fonz from Happy Days? Or Hayden Panettiere's "don't vote" reverse-psychology election PSAs (no one says "Nobody f--ks with John McCain" better than Hayden!). And of course we all know that it was while shooting a Funny or Die video that Zachary Quinto nearly got arrested (he was playing a robber and was so convincing someone called the cops!).

I keep hoping Funny or Die would release some of these on DVD. There's probably licensing reasons why they can't do that. But I hate watching videos on my computer screen (I tolerate it because I must, but these past few weeks I've decided I really hate watching videos on a computer screen - at least anything with YouTube/Funny or Die resolution) so I'd love to be able to watch some of these on the big screen. Oh well.

It was a pretty funny clip, very cool that they brought them all together.

Did Jim Carey ever play Reagan on SNL?
