I was recently browsing this site, and found some nice info on some of the more obscure TF material - chiefly the goofy books. Probably the single funniest of these (unintentionally of course) is Decepticon Patrol. Check out Prime and the Not-Autobots. In fairness, Not-Mirage actually has a cool looking robot mode. The modified Seekers aren't too bad either. This book also has a great ending:

Optimus flings Starscream and Megatron into orbit. Really.

Revenge of the Decepticons also has an amusing Almost-Huffer, who seems to be missing something.

The Kidstuff books are fun too, because the art is largely toy accurate (except for the badly transformed Starscream). Also Megatron seems to have toon Galvatron's wacky personality. It's too bad Shockwave doesn't seem to appear in any of the books, cause I agree with Steve-O that maybe they were trying to copy elements from the comics. Otherwise it looks like he got wasted purely from Megs' Galvatron syndrome.

I have to admit, I find that picture hilarious. It wouldn't have been as funny if the artist hadn't decided to include Prime's gun, because it's in a pretty unfortunate spot relative to panicky Almost-Beachcomber (I'm kind of tempted to call him "Beachpiper" because his head is drawn like that of Pipes rather than Beachcomber. I'm weird. ).
