Nope, I don't think it did. Both were ships named Enterprise, and both existed at different points in the Trek universe. The fact that the NX-01 wasn't in the historical display in TMP and that the ringship wasn't on Archer's wall in ENT isn't very conclusive - both left out a lot of ships named Enterprise.
Absolutely...
I bought a book about twenty years ago which was a "history of the vessels called Enterprise." It covered every REAL ship (civilian or military), and allowed for both "Enterprise" and "Enterprize" variations. It carried up to modern day, and everything we'd seen (or had inferred) about the future... the "ringship," the 1701, the 1701-A, 1701-B, 1701-C, and 1701-D.
I think there were a couple of hundred total entries... everything from sailing sloops to not one but two aircraft carriers to a space shuttle to... well, it's a long list.
If they'd put up pictures of EVERY ship ever called "Enterprise" it would have covered the entire side of the ship!
That said... if we were going back and redoing TMP again (touching up effects here and there, maybe, for a second time) I might be inclined to have the "wall of images" show ROTATING images... so you could, in theory, have every single Enterprise ever.
FYI... some of you have seen this before, but I've done my own version of the "Ringship" (based more upon the "Spaceflight Chronology" published at the time of TMP rather than upon Jefferies' original (non-trek) series-starring ship for the proposed "Starship" series).
