From Jupiter's Lost & Found Files: Lost - Large band of red clouds.

Surprised this story isn't mentioned here yet, as I first got a Tweet about it about a week or so ago, but got another today, but anyway....

Jupiter has lost one of its stripes

Basically as I read the story from last week, as Jupiter was heading around the backside of the sun from us last year, its southern hemisphere band of red clouds (the same one that wraps around the Great Red Spot) started to fade. As the planet came back into view this year, the band of red clouds had totally disappeared.

Now, I'm not saying, but I'm just saying...it is 2010, afterall. Ya know...maybe there is a monolith out there.

a new sun will be born in 2012.....

It looks as if Jupiter is half-naked in those photos.

The other red streak looks like it has grown thicker. Maybe they have merged?

Relax.

This is just an effect caused be the Monoliths replicating and beginning the process of stellar conversion.

This is 2010 afterall.
