Anyone watched Fringe last night? JJ Abram's new TV show is about feature Leonard Nimoy in the season cliffhanger. And last night's episode incorporates a conspiracy theorist who thinks he's the son of Surek and Nimoy's yet-to-be-seen character is creating an army of renegade Romulans. Great funny inside joke and plot tie-in / movie promotion! Of course Joshua did the Vulcan hand gesture at the end of that scene...

I saw it and it was a cute moment but it kind of took me out of it when I started thinking about JJ and whether or not it was promotional. I'm not sure that it was though, and it might just be a tongue-in-cheek homage because I'm not sure if showing a delusional Trekkie conspiracy nut would be how you'd want to push this "movie for everyone".
