Fred Phelps to Picket Dio's funeral.

Well, they're probably counting on Dio having an older fanbase who won't fuck with them. That's probably why they didn't picket Dimebag's funeral. They would most certainly have been killed.
I think they're in for a surprise, though. Some old school metal fan wearing a jean jacket with a big motorhead patch on the back will go apeshit, just watch. And when that happens, I hope he's able to escape arrest. If he doesn't, I'd start a fund for his defense. :techman:

They better come with helmets, Metalheads don't play.

Oh, there'll be kids out in the parking lot with "Mob Rules" blaring from their car stereos, drinking beer and smoking pot. They'll glance over, see the WBC people and be like, "WTF?" And then they'll go start shit with them.

I deplore violence, but I hope the Metalheads get some licks in before the Cops drag Freddie away for his own protection.

I always get a kick out of how illiterate extremist religious propaganda is. Especially amusing is how Ronnie "changed his sir name." :rommie:

You know, I love free-speech and all and normally I'm one to say "I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll fight for your right to say it." But Phelp's and his followers need to all have ball-gags strapped to them for the rest of their lives.

Their getting a good kicking has no effect on their right to free speech, so it's all good.

I liked the his first solo album 'Holy Diver', and he was ok as the temporary frontman for Black Sabbath, but I think Dio was at his best when he was in Rainbow.

With all that these Westboro jackasses keep yelling about gay people, somebody should organize a counter-protest where they surround the Westboros and wear t-shirts that say FRED PHELPS IS GAY.

The idiot that wrote the article didn't even spell his "sir name" correctly. It's Padavona, not Padova. Retards.

And it seems to me, the wrong people are dying. These religious morons wouldn't be missed at all, whereas now,
we won't get another H&H or even Dio album, unless there's unreleased stuff to be found.

RJD was great in any group he was a part of, but I too favor the Rainbow stuff. Maybe because it included Ritchie Blackmore along with Ronnie.
I always hoped for a Blackmore/Dio reunion.

I was just watching the live at Radio City Music Hall DVD last night. That was about 2 years ago, and Ronnie was doing pretty well for a 65 year old.
Though the voice was a little more like a growl than a scream, like in his earlier days. Still awesome.

I wasn't taking away from any other band members, just sayin' it didn't matter what group he was in.

Like I said in the other thread about RJD, the first time I ever heard him was on the 1980 Kerry Livgren solo album. Of course it was much later in the 80's when I had the album. I liked Kansas quite a lot and that KL album wasn't too overly religious.

I knew a guy that did some collaborations with Kerry Livgren 4 or 5 years ago. I never knew Kerry had worked with Dio. Checked out the songs on Youtube, cool stuff.

I hope Kerry is doing better after his stroke. It was a fairly bad one.

Yeah, Seeds Of Change was a great record. Steve Walsh did vocals on one song, David Pack did another and of course Ronnie did 2 songs. Can't remember the rest of the lineup right now.

He is. He's improved quite a bit in only a few months. His doctors were flummoxed as to how quickly he's been recovering. They told him he had the worst kind of stroke a man can have, and yet here he is...

Read his testimony on Kansas' web site. (there's a separate link on that site for news on Kerry's condition)

Given America's legality for gun ownership and suchlike, I still *literally* cannot understand how these cunts - the Phelps/Westboro cult - haven't been murdered yet.

Seriously. How come they're still alive?
