FOX News (Glee, House, Fringe, Allen Gregory)

The condensed version:

  • House and Terra Nova are still a toss up in the renewal category.
  • FOX boss admits that the studio is losing a lot of money on Fringe.
  • Allen Gregory is cancelled
  • There will be no Glee spinoff, even though some characters will still be graduating.

Universal want a 9th season of House but I doubt FOX will and even more of a doubt that Hugh Laurie will want to stay around. FOX needs to tell the FRINGE writers to plan the end now because after those comments no way its getting a 5th.

Awww poop.

Fringe is one of the only shows I watch regularly now, though essentially just for Anna Torv. Not a huge fan of the reset button they pulled this season. Two realities was plenty, if you ask me. Now there's four and the new ones are pretty tiring. I'm getting a definite Alias vibe with the let's do everything over again but shittier that they pulled in like, season 3, I think it was, with the time jump reset. They managed to come back from it, I guess, but it was never quite the same show.

House is just spinning its wheels at this point. It's still entertaining, but there's not much new going on. Another pointless gimmick for a few episodes and then BLAM! reset button.

Terra Nova needs to just die already. Sucked from day one.

Allen Gregory was embarrassing. Good riddance.

Don't have any interest in Glee. High school is not, was never and never will be like that. They don't need another one.

Fringe Execs say that the season finale planned can work as a series finale, well thats just B/S. Season finales are designed by nature to end seasons not shows especially an story arced driven show like Fringe.

I have a nasty feeling the final episode of Fringe is going to do nothing to wrap up the show.

It depends. "The Venture Brothers" season finale would have been a fine series finale and the fifth season finale of "the Sopranos" would have also worked as a series finale (some might say better than the actual series finale, in fact).

Personally, after "Alf" and "Twin Peaks" I'd prefer every season finale to work as a possible series finale, just in case something goes wrong and the show ends up getting cancelled.

I don't know about that. Every season finale of Supernatural has been written as a series finale. Every season finale beginning with the fifth of StarGate SG1 was written as a series finale.

Fringe is dead dead dead. When the network head says that they're losing money it's a sign that ashow is about to get whacked.

JJ Abrams:

“For some sick reason I’m hopeful. There’s some stuff coming up this season that’s so great. Maybe it’s dumb optimism that the good work [of the Fringe showrunners] will be rewarded. And if not on Fox, maybe somewhere else.”

The only way I see it going on is if the CW adds it to it's network. If Fox is losing money there's no way they'll keep it.

Why would CW take a show that Fox can't make work?

I can't even remember which Glee characters are supposed to graduate this season. Anyone know who will be left if they do go ahead with a Season 4?

There will be a 4th season. Kurt, an Asian, bitchy girl and Finn are all graduating. I'm horrible with names.

Of the original characters I think the only ones not graduating are Mercedes, Artie and Tina plus some of the newer ones like Sam and Blaine.

They will definitely keep Finn, Rachel and Kurt. They don't need a spin-off, they can just split the narrative, the characters don't have to attend McKinley be part of the show.

I thought Sam was old enough to be graduating; in the recent episode when Finn and Rachel show up to try and recruit him back to McKinley in time for Sectionals, he was dancing in a strip club.

So, like 90% of the other shows about people in high school, when they graduate they'll just "happen" to all attend college in the same town in which the show is set.
