Here's how else you could have Kirk's dad appear without time travel.

Have "The Ultimate Computer" be the thrust of the plot. Except instead of just Daystrom's personality, the M-5 also incorporates Kirk's dad, Pike, and others into its insane personality. And there's a holographic interface, which manifests to characters as various people from their lives.

Kirk wasn't killed in the ramming of the Narada, he was captured by the Kilingons along with the Narada's crew.

All this time he was being held prisoner by the Klingons.

I think that your idea is not going to happen.

I'd be fine with the idea that instead of time travel, NuKirk somehow travels to the Prime universe so he can meet the dad he never knew.

I wouldn't half mind a Kelvinverse take on "The Ultimate Computer" (with Avery Brooks as Richard Daystrom) but...not in connection with George Kirk.

Much prefer the "Yesterday's Kelvin" angle.

Federation vs Klingon Empire conflict. A plot within this context. Klingons using a new technology, cloaking device. It could unbalance the entire quadrant. George Kirk didn´t die. He was captured by the Kilingons. He and others slaves work in the ships assembly area in a secret base.
