Foster's sequel working title, "Star Trek: Refugees"

I spent a few minutes searching the forum, and nothing came up for "refugees," so here goes. My apologies if I missed it.

Alan Dean Foster has already been contracted to do the sequel novelization, and the working title is "Star Trek: Refugees."

The article can be found from July 02 in the Trek News list at the right and in the Trek News forum. The salient paragraph is at the end:

Now that the Star Trek XI novelization is out, fans who enjoy Foster's work can look forward to his sequel to Star Trek XI. "I signed the contract, so that's a go," said Foster. "At least the first step is a go. The second step is for Pocket Books and Paramount to approve the outline...I did a fairly extensive outline for the book which has the tentative title of Star Trek: Refugees which I can't explain without giving anything away. I mean, I just signed the contract. But hopefully the outline will be approved since the book is due in October."

So, I was wondering -- does this refer to Vulcan refugees, Khan's people as refugees? Your thoughts?

Interesting name. Could be the Vulcans. I doubt it's the Eugenics participants because they were exiles more so than refugees. Could also be an encounter with Guinan's people, the El-Aurians, fleeing from the devastation of a Borg attack.

I have a feeling this will be about Vulcan mainly. I don't think he'd go for a Khan storyline since it seems that they may use him in the films.

So, does this mean they will not use Vulcan refugees in the film?

It's a sequel to XI, so I don't think it would be about Guinan's people.

I was wondering if it would be about Khan's people to set up the movie. They are starting to set up movies, it seems, with prequel publications (i.e., "Countdown"). It makes sense: we've still got money in our pockets.

I would have to guess that these are Vulcan 'fugees.

I anticipate that the Big E and Co. will play a pivotal part in the novel, but it could also serve as a story featuring nothing but stories from the Vulcan's POV.
