it seems the really "next big thing" wasnt vampires but robots/cyborgs. Remember last year someone made a thread saying vampires where going to be everywhere in genre entertainment?

but in the last couple years we've seen

Terminator: SCC
Terminator: Salvation
the 2 Transformers films
Surrogates

also the movie Moon

I think the lead guy might be a robot or if not some artificially created being or clone. At least he has an AI pal voiced by Kevin Spacey

that Bruce Willis flick Surrogates I saw the trailer to when I watched T:S was what made me think of this.
Maybe we'll get a Data or Borg cameo in the next Star Trek sequel?
