Forged In Fire - Nightmare!!! - SPOILERS!

I did a very dumb thing last night. Right before I went to bed, I decided to read one more chapter of Forged In Fire...and it happened to be Chapter 27 that involved the torture of the three Klingon captains. I was horrified. I had hoped it would not bring me nightmares, but damned to hell, it did. The basis of the nightmare morphed into something even more twisted and evil. When I woke up, I cursed Michael and Andy. How could they write such a chapter knowing if some fool like myself read it before he went to bed, he would have nightmares?

So Michael and Andy...thanks a lot! Even if I could, I would never return the favor. That would be just too cruel.

The most bizarre thing, however, is it was the best night's sleep I got in quite some time.

I've found that, generally, the more I dream (or the more I recall dreaming), the more rested I feel the next day. Nightmares are particularly cathartic--the more apocalyptic, the better.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

I guess I'm lucky, I've never actually had a nightmare induced by something I read or watched. But that's probably more do to the fact that I try to make a point of not experiencing anything that could cause them. Which means I won't be reading chapter 27 within an hour or two of going to bed.

It is disturbing by design. If you weren't against the Albino by that point, then you will be after reading it.

As someone who appreciates good horror books, comics, and films -- and who's been known to write a few horror comics in the past -- I'm glad you had the appropriate reaction to the scene. Well, not glad you had a nightmare, but glad it elicited the proper response.

There's another scene that may do the same in Kobayashi Maru, involving... nope, can't tell you.

Writing scenes with horror are a great way to cleanse the mind given the bad things that happen in "real life."

Ok, I must be desensitized because I didn’t find the torture to be that torturous.

Maybe I'm dead inside? (pokes insides) OWW, nope not dead inside yet.

Never had a nightmare from reading something but the other night after hanging out reading the online chat thingie I had a bizzare dream where Shatner was a detective trying to solve a murder with his grandson who was played by Chris Pine. Most of the characters were from the various Trek shows and it was just odd.

The weirdest Star Trek dream I had recently was a funny adventure with Calhoun and Salem the cat from Sabrina the Teenage With (My daughter loves that series). I wish I could remember details but I remember that I slept very well that night.
