Forever War movie -- Ridley Scott + blade runner screenwriter

Not holding my breath.
God, I really wish this had legs, but it feels like it's been in limbo forever. The Forever War is my single favorite novel, and I've always thought that a feature between 2 and 2 1/2 hours could do it justice. Further than that, I trust Ridley Scott to keep the key themes of the book and make an entertaining movie. In capable hands, this could provide the action of a blockbuster with the thoughtfulness of hard SF.
Great book.
