Fly Like an Eagle (Space 1999)

I always liked those critters. Designed to be entirely believable, unlike the plot devices of said show.

The moon blown out of orbit from magnetism cause by stored nuclear fuel waste? Gimme a break.

Some feedback I got left on another board has led me to do some tweaking. Backed WAY off on the density of the "greeble" textures, changed some parts proportions, etc. Will upload and link asap...

and a new one, inspired by the Ultra Probe:

Shouldn't the cockpit windows be cut-outs rather than stick-ons? You're still relying heavily on image maps for greebles and panels, it might be an idea to get in there and actually model more of that stuff directly.

Limitations of my package. I can't actually MODEL anything. I can only stick together pre-designed parts and put a texture on them.

Given that, I think I've done some good looking work here....but that's just my opinion...

What are you using? I thought it must be Wings3D or one of the other small free packages? If you're using the Spore creature creator or something similar it's time to trade up. Go get the hang of Google Sketchup, it's about the easiest 3D package to learn, and you cant get any cheaper.

I use a software package called DOGA. It's a "virtual legoes" type concept. Pre-generated basic shapes (spheres, cylinders, cubes, etc) and simple parts that can be stuck together as the user desires, then texture.

Simplistic, but about all my computer can handle and all I have the time/ability to work with.
