News Flood disasters in Europe

Germany is currently hit by several flood disasters. My region suffered serious flooding, but we remained unscathed. Two missing people, most likely drowned in the torrents.

Nordrhein-Westfalen suffered more - people losing their homes or even their lives. Some have been evacuated. Their existence washed away....

Several other countries were also hit by floods. The weather is going crazy.

Elsewhere in the world people suffer from extreme heat.

The flood is gone in my region and left only material damage. Already more than 130 dead in Nordrhein-Westfalen and Rheinland-Pfalz. Many have lost everything and are homeless. Help is on the way from everywhere.

Saw another video by the BBC with the headline "Catastrophic flooding across western Europe as politicians blame climate change". Dear BBC, neutrality is not objectivity. There's no "blaming" of climate change, this was climate change. So, fuck your headline.

Heartbreaking news and I hope the worst of it is over. My town was hit with floods in 1998 when it was constant heavy rain for an entire week and thousands of homes were flooded. I lived in a part of the town that wasn't affected but with some friends we drove to the area and I've never seen anything like it. The main river in the town was raging and had completely covered a footbridge because the level had risen so high. We were just a metre away from it raging past us and the only thing separating us was a thin brick wall. I think it held out because the water was moving alongside the wall and not against it but we didn't stay long because the sound of the river was deafening.

The flood now hit Southern Bavaria and Austria, killed two people in the process. Elsewhere in Europoe people suffer and die from extreme heat....
