Was Fleet Captain Garth Gay ? I watched part of that one this morning on dvd while having breakfast. I just got back in from moving furniture and having fried chicken and hamburgers.
I thought Garth couldn't keep his eyes off Spock for a few minutes. Of course I could be mistaken but Garth did look a little on the Fruity Pebbles side. But I'm sure the character if real was a terrific Captain and the actor who played him was as stright as an arrow.

HE wasn't.

But that robe/jacket and crown he wore? Richard Simmons spooning with Harvey Fierstein in a tub of mayonnaise would be less gay.

^Says the guy with "The King" in his avatar....

Garth was insane, so his affectations didn't necessarily add up to anything. He did keep around Yvonne Craig in green body paint, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.

I would say no. He was insane, but not gay.

He was probably trying to live up to what his delusional mind considered a "royal" way to behave, being that he named himself "Lord Garth" and such.

Well, I just saw the actor on a Mission Impossible ep, and he WAS wearing too much eye makeup.

Apparently there are some cut scenes of the Andorian having antennae-to-butt sex with Lord Garth.

I'm not sure if this counts as fruity pebbles or what.

Lord Garth, like Republicans, ain't gay... they just sometimes have sex with men. It's no big thing.

Poor subject to bring up. i read earlier today that the actor, Steve Ihnat, who played Fleet Captain Garth died in the early 1970s tragically. My apologies and condolences to his family. I am sure without a doubt he was a good, decent family man. This thread should be locked.
