Five Minute Quickie!!

Many TREK episodes, and it was an art form perfected by TNG, have had five minute quick fixes. You know the set up. Everything looks pretty bad, and hopeless, then they cut for the final commercial break and return to watch our crew, and yes TNG was masterful at this, quickly solve everything in five minutes; hence the five minute quick fix lable.

What episode, any series, do you think had the BEST quick fix...and, of course, which one had the WORST five minute quick fix!!....

Sins of the Father (I think that was the title) where Worf accepted discommendation from the Klingon Empire.

It was established that there was no way the empire was going to admit the truth and that Worf would have to die for his fathers actions.

I thought the idea of Worf invoking yet another arcane Klingon ritual at the end was pretty clever.

Hands down "Cause and Effect" - the damn ship blows up with everyone on board!

Best of Both Worlds had a pretty good "quick fix." The team is trying unsuccessfully to send a sophisticated program via Locutus to destroy the Borg cube. Picard's consciousness emerges and he give Data a simple command that will not be blocked -- sleep.

Never saw it coming.

I liked this one also. I think these episodes were TNG at its best.
