All--

Join Star Trek: Phase II at the Shore Leave Convention in Hunt Valley, MD for the first public glimpse of David Gerrold's "Blood & Fire" on the main ballroom big screen.

"Blood & Fire" part one in a 'wet print' format will be shown at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 11, 2008.

Another treat will be George Takei and James Cawley introducing a main ballroom public screening of "World Enough and Time" including talking about the production of the film.

Hope to see you all there!

"Wet print" was the term applied to a movie fresh out of the developer--the final edit has not yet taken place.

After having seen the film in this more "rough" form, the episode is very powerful . . . I can only imagine what the impact will be of the final edit.

Any idea when it will finally be out? I have been waiting for this since I first heard about but its worth the wait. Hehehe.

It will be out in two parts at different times, later this year . . .

That's great news. Too bad I'm far away to attend. Darn it!

Wish I could be there. I'll have to wait for the general release. I'm definitely looking forward to it.

I, too, have been looking forward to this particular episode and eagerly await it's public arrival. :D

Is anyone out there going to be at Shore Leave? Come by and say hello to us . . .

In addition to the screening of "Blood & Fire" James Cawley and George Takei will be introducing a screening of "World Enough and Time" on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the main ballroom. There will also be a screening of "To Serve All My Days, A Night in 1969" in one of the media rooms during the convention--be sure to check the schedule at www.shore-leave.com . . .

Hope to see you all there--

Cheers!

Am I the first to comment on the showing? Well, I enjoyed it a lot. It's not quite as good as World Enough and Time, but not far from that standard.

No preaching about "all kinds of love" being equal. Not even the words "gay" and "homosexual." Some wonderful lines: "Guess who." "Mister Sulu?"

Some folks did giggle at the first sight of places where effects were to be inserted, but that didn't last long.

So Phase II continues to be the "gold standard" of the independent Trek productions. Can't wait to see Enemy Starfleet when that's released and The Child after that.

Randy,
Thank You for the kind words! "Blood and Fire" was very well received by the 300 in the crowd. I heard nothing but positive comments and most agreed that it maintains the level of excellance we set with "WEAT". People laughed and cried at all the right moments!
First and most importantly it is a story about people, and that is what Star Trek is all about. It is also our first episode to rely heavily on it's series regulars and for that I am most pleased. I think that this episode will surprise many fans when it finally airs this fall. It has been a very rewarding episode to make, and has been the highlight of my time so far with the series. I take "The Gold Standard" tag very seriously!
