First...female Doctor, now...female Joker?

If they did this then wouldn't it make Harley Quinn, irrelevant? Seems like they would basically be the same character? Not to mention how would this effect Catwoman who also sort of seems to be the same character? What would be more interesting if they want to change gender roles is to make Alfred a older woman and see how being raised by a woman would have changed his outlet on life. If not that I kind of like the idea of making Penguin a female so you could cast a actress that isn't unrealsitc hot and has a normal looking body type.

Jason

A female Joker wouldn't be the same character as Harley Quinn. Harley has always been the co-dependent sidekick always eager to please a controlling and abusive partner, the Joker.

And this was all spurred by Karen Gillan, who expressed interest playing a version of the Joker and didn't even know about the Martha version.

"Right! This calls for immediate discussion!"

... My feeling is maybe we should give Joker a rest for a while. I prefer characters who aren't one-dimensionally psychotic/evil.
