First...female Doctor, now...female Joker?

Karen Gillan Would Like to Play The Joker in a DCEU Movie.

The Story mentions the Flashpoint alternate universe, where Martha Wayne becomes the Joker.

Would this be the only way we'd ever see a female Joker, in an alternate universe story? And would they ever do an alt universe movie?

I would love it. I know nothing about the female Joker of the comics but I think Karen Gillan is a wonderful actress and I think she would be great as a zany lunatic.

If they did this then wouldn't it make Harley Quinn, irrelevant? Seems like they would basically be the same character? Not to mention how would this effect Catwoman who also sort of seems to be the same character? What would be more interesting if they want to change gender roles is to make Alfred a older woman and see how being raised by a woman would have changed his outlet on life. If not that I kind of like the idea of making Penguin a female so you could cast a actress that isn't unrealsitc hot and has a normal looking body type.

That's not the Joker, that's an alternate Joker, and it makes some sense given the story actually had that. There's an alternate Batman as well.

'Flashpoint'. IIRC Barry does a Barry on the timeline and one of the changes is Joe Chill killed Bruce but left his parents alive. Thomas became a gun toting Batman while Martha became a version of the Joker.

I'm not 100% sure, but it feels like there's some confusion here about who's talking about what (If I'm wrong about that, no offense), so I'll just throw this out there for maximum clarity:

Martha Wayne was a female Joker in the comics storyline Flashpoint.
Lauren Cohan played Martha Wayne in BvS.
Lauren Cohan has not yet played the alternate version of Martha Wayne who is the Joker. But there is a movie coming out called Flashpoint, so it would be awesome if she did.

I'm not 100% sure, but it feels like there's some confusion here about who's talking about what (If I'm wrong about that, no offense), so I'll just throw this out there for maximum clarity:

Lauren Cohan has not yet played the alternate version of Martha Wayne who is the Joker. But there is a movie coming out called Flashpoint, so it would be awesome if she did.

And this was all spurred by Karen Gillan, who expressed interest playing a version of the Joker and didn't even know about the Martha version.

That all being said, I would prefer Gillan to play a new version of the Joker because damn Flashpoint sounds convoluted.
