FireFox Issue - Spelling

I had to rebuild my PC software from scratch. I'm running FF 3.5. Before the reboot, the spell checker worked find. Now, though I've installed the SpellChecker add-on, it ain't happenin'.

Looking at the add-on, window, it gives me the disable/uninstall options, but the options button is disabled.

What am I missing here? Is there some other menu option I need to activate?

While the red squiggly line is an irritant, I'd rather have it on.

Any advice?

Hmm. Not a single reply.

Don't bother, fixed it.

Installing the British English dictionary seemed to kick it off. Why SpellChecker didn't do anything remains a mystery.
