Goofing around with my 350 destroyer bash, to see if I could do phasers with a laser pointer.
This is four photos composited:
1) The model, with internal lights turned OFF, photographed with photo flood lights.
2) The model, with lights turned ON, photographed in the dark to get just the lights.
3) The model, with lights out, shot in the dark, with a laser pointer aimed at the phaser bump, and some freon shot into the beam (or whatever comes out of an air can when you shoot it upside down).
4) A downloaded astronomical photo background
I cut out the ship and pasted it on the background in Corel PhotoPaint, then layered the lights and phaser on in "screen" or "add" mode. Then I added a little noise for a film look.
