Poll Fingernails: what is the state of your?

Don't worry, that's completely normal. Nature wisely made nails so that they grow all the faster the more they are being used. This way our sensitive fingertips always have a maximum of protection.
I bite my nails, and even chew the skin at either side of my nails off so I can't get hangnail, and I often scrap the shin growing on the base of nails back, then sheer it off when it clumps up.
I used to bite my toenails off too when sitting in the shower, but can't reach anymore because I have a belly now, so I usually rip them off. Then, if I have a long, hooked jagged big toe nail, I will use it like a tooth pick, even chew on it a bit.
I also use steak knives to but off my heavy callused heels in the shower, dead flesh comming off slice after slice, or from under my right pinky toe (double wide feet plus limp causes pressure), but I'm too classy to chew on either. Sometimes my pinky toe causes thick skin to grow on bottom and side of toe next to that, so I cut it too.

I chose the option for opening oranges, but I don't really eat oranges - substitute "move a jumper or dipswitch on a computer component board without tools" for "open an orange". 
I cut mine down to the quick because I hate long nails.
