It's been two years since the Special Edition was first announced, and we finally have an R1 release date - March 3. The box set will be $100 MSRP, though each serial will also be available separately, all for $25 except The Armageddon Factor, which is a $35 2-disc set.

It looks like the big box set will be a single case containing the DVDs instead of having separate cases for each serial, which is a shame considering how good the artwork is on each individual case. The box set's artwork is very bland.

I'm not sure what the issue is. Look at Trial of a Time Lord for example. It has a box cover art, with individual cases inside that box, and each dvd has its own artwork. You get it both ways when you buy the box set.

So ... what's the problem?

Really? I'd thought that Trial was a 1" Amaray case containing all four discs. My bad. (Must have been thinking of the original plan for the Davros collection.)

Nope, and I looked in the tvshowsondvd.com site to see the pic they have there of the Trial case. It looks like the same format as Key2Time. Based on that, there's no question, each story will have its own case with a own thin "cardboardy" type outer shell.

And here I thought this thread was going to be about the looming key to time II over in audio land.

Though I much admit listening to Mary Tam during her guest spots in the Gallifrey titles sent some unexpected tussling in my groin I had quite forgotten were possible since it's been 20 something years since I saw the original Key to Time.

How ever behind the scenes... Mary's real voice is a little bit rough compared to the pomp I have come to expect from this character of hers she helped create... Not that there's anythng wrong with that. :)
