Final Unity

Captain Dax

Lieutenant Junior Grade
Red Shirt
Just played through this game again, is there a TNG novel that has this vibe? A galactic disovery? Ancient aliens, Romulans or Klingons?

Not to help you but I really enjoyed this game as well. I, too, just finished it.

I wonder what happened to the Garidians. Probably not a good thing to have a civil insurrection in the Romulan Empire.

it is a shame they didn't go the novelization route with this one - Starfleet Academy and ST: Klingon both managed to be readable despite being retellings of video game plots. A Final Unity was another one of those that would have lent itself to a prose expansion/adaptation. ST: Borg is another

These days I feel like the weird one for the fact that I genuinely love novelizations and the possibilities they offer, particularly when the source material is as relatively straightforward as A Final Unity. In this case, we could see more of both the Garidians and the Chodak, be able to have more of a connection with them, not to mention the expansion of the various locations visited in the course of the game.

I genuinely like novelizations, particularly when they’re given the ability to explore things that are limited by the source medium - a video game generally keeps a locked perspective on the main characters so we don’t get to see other interactions, a movie can’t just explore a character’s thoughts unless voice over is already established, and then it’s often awkward to do multiple characters...

The novel The Dark Veil has a Garidian crewmember aboard a Romulan ship, but I don't remember if we find out anything new about them besides confirming the fact that they are a Romulan offshoot race.
