An amazing tribute video showing the 11 footer's restoration from start to finish:

For some of us interested in details of the Enterprise this will make your mouth water. Also pay particular note at 0:58 and 4:55 marks where you'll see very detailed drawings of the ship. One can only hope these will one day be released and shared publically. I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

That was awesome! Nice find!

I'd love to see the TMP Enterprise find a home right next to it at the Smithsonian some day, and see it restored too!

I wonder if the new Star Trek Discovery series might feature the model in a scene where someone visits the Starfleet museum and sees the ship out of a window. They could always explain that while it is not the real NCC-1701, but another Constitution class ship, it was renamed for the museum to show.

That's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in my whole life. :adore:

I just came jete to post this very thing.
But of course I knew that someone woukd gave me beat to it.
You are not letting me down. :D

Check 5:35... look on the table in the background? Is that another engineering hull there? What is that, a practice mockup? I'm going to guess yes. I think it might be the same thing we see... at 1:18. Where the bottom engineering hull markings looked like they were going on top!

I mean, that must be it, right?

Looks that way to me. Better to "practice on scrap" than to mess up the real thing.

That was quite stirring.

That is a bit of an understatement, in my opinion. Brought a tear to 'me eye....

As a modeler currently building my own "Big E", the close ups and other detail pictures are a God send and a wealth of information for those of us who are trying to do justice to our own builds..

loved it. It's hard to believe that this model has been a part of my life since 3rd grade. I hope it remains on display for many more generations.

So cool! I recently went down to DC to see the Enterprise at the Smithsonian. Such a surreal, amazing experience. They did a great job.
