Just found some of my back issues of League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Had a crazy thought. If you could populate a starship with characters (TV or movies -- TV might be easier), who would you choose for your officers? Nothing against Mr. Scott but I think MacGyver would make a great engineer. Perry Cox from Scrubs would probably be my chief medical officer.

Medical officer: Dr. House (disregarding his personality)
Science officer: Sheldon Cooper (ditto)
Security chief: The Six Million Dollar Man
Intelligence officer (if starships have one): Number 6
Chief Engineer: MacGyver (great call!)
Captain: Ben Cartwright
Computer: K.I.T.T.
