You forgot Paris, the first show he and Arthur Matthews co-wrote. It immediately preceded Ted and starred Alexi Sayle. But from the low ratings and poor reviews it got, I don't think it was ever a serious challenger to win (or even get a single vote!)

I really like The IT Crowd and Black Books (though Dylan Moran wrote the most recent series alone). But my vote has got to be for the heavenly Father Ted. An absolute classic, which makes me laugh my head off every time I see it.

In general, I don't really like Linehan's inclination toward making conventional sitcoms that veer off into absurdity; I liked Big Train the most, because the sketch format had more room for randomness (and also because of the wonderful cast).

Another nod for Father Ted - it's one of those shows that doesn't get old for me.

I wasn't keen on the IT Crowd in it's first series, but I've gotten to like it now. Oddly it was the whole Roy/Moss kissing scene and the football episode (which mirrors my own attempts to try and be more 'manly') that got me into it.

Black Books is another favourite, though it's again probably a similarity thing as I've been told I have Bernards work ethic. Or lack of.

Can't say I'm much of a fan of any. Father Ted and Big Train were ok but I could never be bothered watching them every week, never seen Black Books, and saw a bit of the IT Crowd and thought it was awful.

For me he'll always be the Irish guy in I'm Alan Partridge

"Sunday Bloody Sunday, really encapulates the frustration of a Sunday. You wake up in the morning, you've gotta read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've gotta mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think 'Sunday! Bloody Sunday!'"
