Aw, I wonder what the OP said. But I like the topic anyway:
Capt. DeSoto of the USS Hood. The ship appeared several times from Encounter at Farpoint all the way to Nemesis (name and registry appear as a cameo), and I'd like to think that DeSoto was her CO for that whole time. But all those appearances also implies that the Hood is second only to the Enterprise in terms of all the important Star Trek engagements of the TNG era, including fighting side-by-side with the Defiant in at least two major battles of the Dominion War!

Captain Robau was ten minutes of pure bad ass from the moment he first appeared on screen until the moment he was unceremoniously impaled off screen.

I can't explain it, but I liked Sanders from DS9: "For the Uniform" a lot. He had personality, but he wasn't a dick.
^ And he had the presence of mind to use the holo-communicator!
I did, too. He was in a tough spot because he was given Sisko's assignment and had to bearer of bad news (or maybe he volunteered to tell Sisko himself), but he handled it well. I've always liked the brief moment of comradery between the two captains just before Sanders leaves Sisko's office.
