Favorite original characters from Trek novels.

For me, I like K'tl'k (or however you spell it) from "Wounded Sky" and "Spock's World". You know, the scientist who was said to look like a glass spider.

Zar from "Yesterday's Son" and it's sequel "Time for Yesterday". Also from the sequel, the characters of D'Berahan and Wynn.

From "Uhura's Song", the characters of Evan Wilson, Jinx and Brightspot.

What a coincidence! I immediately thought of K't'lk before I opened the thread. I also like D'Hennish the feline-like astrocartographer from Wounded Sky, too.

Put me down for K't'lk, and Tail-Kinker (we did, after all, find out she was NOT the REAL "Evan Wilson"), and Jinx, and Brightspot.

And I've still got a place in my heart from that poor, misunderstood, heavy-planet-dweller, Jenniver Aristeides. Anybody else remember her, from The Entropy Effect?

Kasak sutai-Khornezh - the Klingon captain from the TOS novel "Rules of Engagement"

S'task - the leader of the (eventually Romulan) separatist movement in Diane Duane's books.

Harb Tanzer - the Recreation Chief aboard the Enterprise, also in Duane's books.

And of course, Mackenzie Calhoun. :D

I am fond of Zar too.
I really like Telani, Kirk's love interest in the Shatnerverse novels.
T'Prynn from Vanguard is one of my favorites.
Keru who's appeared in TNG and DS9 books before coming to Titan.
I'm a massive fan of New Frontier and it's original characters are fantastic. Calhoun, Soletta, Burgoyne, McHenry are all really well developed characters that I could read about forever.

The whole cast of New Frontier are great characters, even if the stories about them weren't always great.
Elias Vaughn is one of my all time favorites.

Liam O'Donnell and Atlee Fife. I would read a whole series about those two.

Also Elias Vaughn, Zak Kebron and Mackenzie Calhoun (up through Stone & Anvil anyway; after that things derail a bit), Dr. Ree, Diego Reyes, T'Prynn, and I really want to say Erika Hernandez except she was in Enterprise briefly, but she still has one of the all time great TrekLit character arcs.

Vanguard does have some great characters too, like Diego Reyes, T'Prynn (technically introduced in a DS9 novel, but mainly developed in Vanguard) Tim Pennington, Dr. Fisher, and Cervantes Quinn.
Kirsten Beyer introduced some good characters in her Voyager books to like the two mentioned by Thrawn, and Hugh Cambridge.

Characters who have already been mentioned: K't'lk, Reyes, T'Prynn, Chen and Vaughn.

Characters who haven't been mentioned yet: Nanietta Bacco (how has she not been mentioned yet?), Krenn sutai-Rustazh, and Ael t'Rllaillieu (yeah, I had to look up the spelling!)

I'm guessing there are a few more that just aren't coming to mind at the moment...

I would have loved to have seen a continuation of Tail-Kinker's story. :) I wish there had been a sequel.

I'm with ya'. Those two haven't got nearly enough play since Children of The Storm. I love their command sharing dynamic and how unique it is for Starfleet.

I'd also say Vaughn, T'Prynn, Pennington, Zar, and Sam Bowers are some of my other favorite lit characters :)

I like K'tlk from the Wounded Sky By Diane Duane and also her Romulan Captain Ael T'rllleiu from her Romulan novels . I also like Diego Reyes from the Vanguard novels and his girlfriend who's the Jag lawyer. And Captain Khatassi she's a great Captain. I also Like Evan Wilson and Jinx from Uhura's son and Spock's son Zar from A.C. Crispin novel from Yesterdays son.

Way to many to mention! :D

Basicly every character created for Vanguard. :D
Elias Vaugh
T'Ryssa Chen
Shar

Those are at the top of my head.

I like Shar too. I love the whole Andorian race and storyline. It's made them a really well developed race that isn't just humans with a facial prosthetic and one exaggerated personality characteristic. They've been fully realized as a truly alien race, and it's been largely thru Shar's messy personal life that the Andorians have been so well explored.

I endorse others mentioning Vaughn, Bacco, Ael t'Rllaillieu, and K't'lk. Consider them added to my list, along with Terise LoBrutto, Lt. Naraht, and the Pathfinders from "Memory Prime".
