Favorite Non-Trek movies with Trek actors

I watched The Devil's Gate today where Jonathan Frakes has a small part. I wouldn't recommend it since I could not make it through. I've been thinking of checking out Out To Sea with Spiner but it's not available on Netflix at this time. Do you all have any favorites? Trek actors have made some interesting B-movies here and there.

Layer Cake features Colm Meaney in a terrific supporting role. However, Alexander Siddig's supporting roles in Kingdom of Heaven (director's cut only) and Syriana are probably my favorite non-Trek performances for Trek actors that aren't named Patrick Stewart (because, let's face it, he's an acting god in everything).

Fun topic.

There's the 1978 version of INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS with Leonard Nimoy, which I remember really liking back in the day. On the campier end of things, you have DeForest Kelley fighting giant rabbits in NIGHT OF THE LEPUS, William Shatner fighting Satan in THE DEVIL'S RAIN, James Doohan investigating murdered schoolgirls in PRETTY MAIDS ALL IN A ROW, and Majel Barrett popping up as a robot madam in the original WESTWORLD.

Meanwhile, Patrick Stewart has a long and impressive resume: the X-Men movies, EXCALIBUR, LIFEFORCE, A CHRISTMAS CAROL, etc.

Oh, duh. How could I possibly forget Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)?! That's one of my all-time favorite horror films and it has such an amazing cast beyond Nimoy.

And then, of course, there's INCUBUS, with Shatner speaking Esperanto for the entire movie!

And if you want to see Seven of Nine playing a vampire, there's always DRACULA 2000 with Jeri Ryan as one of Dracula's Brides. And Brent Spiner has a memorable part in Independence Day.

Impulse is one of my favorite Shatner films. I wonder how much the B movies pay former Trek stars. Just having a Trek person can attract a certain sci fi audience. I rented that one just because Frakes was in it.

Not a movie, but I'm watching The Practice and there are a bunch of side Trek actors who have roles. One took me like 10 minutes to figure out who the woman was, it was Sisko's girlfriend.

Alice Krige (the Borg Queen) began creeping people out as the seductive female specter in GHOST STORY. She can also be found in CHARIOTS OF FIRE, which is one of the few times she's played a conventional female lead instead of a ghost, vampire, were-cat, alien, etc.

Whoopi Goldberg in several other roles than just being Guinan in TNG:

- Sister Act
- The Color Purple

And Denise Crosby in Pet Semetary.

Independence Day - Brent Spiner
The Hunt For Red October - Gates McFadden
X-Men: Days of Future Past and Logan - Patrick Stewart
Under Siege - Colm Meaney
Transformers the Movie and Transformers: Dark of the Moon - Leonard Nimoy
Sister Act 1 and 2 - Whoopi Goldberg
Reign of Fire - Alexander Siddig and Alice Krige

For all of, what, ten seconds?! :p

My takeaway from this thread is the appearance rate of main Trek actors in other movies and shows is regrettably thin. :sigh:

I referred to IMDB to make my list. Most of the cast members stayed on television, or went on to be directors & producers for other shows, or occasional films. There has always been a stigma to being on Star Trek, occasionally casting directors get past it, for the most part, though...

And to be fair, Gates McFadden said she had a larger role, but it got edited down to the one scene of her taking Alec Baldwin to the airport.

Obvious ones first:

Peter Weller - RoboCop
Christopher Lloyd - Back to the Future
Kurtwood Smith - RoboCop

Not so obvious ones:

Patrick Stewart - Green Room
Avery Brooks - American History X
Brent Spiner - Independence Day
Nana Visitor - Friday the 13th
Colm Meaney - Under Siege
Marc Alaimo - Total Recall
Simon Pegg - Shaun of the Dead
Zoe Saldana - Guardians of the Galaxy
John Cho - Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle
Alice Krige - Sleepwalkers
F. Murray Abraham - National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1
