Favorite moments in the LotR movies?

Pick ONE of your favorite moments/scenes/sequences, don't list them all, because there are surely so many. Post one a day if you must, but one per post.

I'm watching RotK and they just had the lighting of the beacons, from Gondor to Rohan. Tears! Tears came to my eyes! Just conveying the fear, determination, and hope that the message would be received and answered.

Definitely on my list of favorite sequences.

Too many to mention. These were really well done films even if they did fiddle around with some scenes in ways that didn't work quite so well. I thought that the Battle of Helms Deep, particularly the interspersing scenes of the end of the battle when Gandalf arrives and the Ents' march on Isengard was particularly well done. Howard Shore's score was very well woven into these scenes as well.

I don't remember the name of the scene, but I loved the part where Galadriel showed Frodo the fate of the Shiar, and was tempted by the power of the ring. That was a very cool scene.

The Mines of Moria. I love it when the fellowship is together. The scenes are tense and exciting. From the orcs breaking the door, to the cave troll, to the bridge, and finally the Balrog.

My absolute favorite scene of any of those movies is at the end of "The Two Towers" when Sam is giving his speech to Frodo just after Frodo is confronted by the Nazgul dragon.

Oddly, Edoras' introduction. The mournful music, the way the flag (?) flutters down from the Golden Hall. It's very melancholy and stark, but beautiful.

Gandalf's fight with the Balrog. I really liked the design of that creature. Widh I could have seen more.

The Bridge of Khazad-dûm, probably...

For a small moment, perhaps the look on Gollum's face when he first sees Frodo w/the Ring in the Emyn Muil.

Boromir's final moments. Him showing up to save Merry and Pippin, then getting shot by that punk Uruk-hai, then his final words to Aragorn. Howard Shore's music was just perfect during that part.

Most have and will be mentioned so i'd take a smaller one.

Fellowship of the Ring

Frodo is about to leave the group when he is found by Aragorn and they have a small chat until they notice the Uruk Hai approaching and Frodo flees while Aragorn turns around.

The scene slows down, Aragorn raises his sword in a salute to the Uruk Hai with a sort of devilish/You're so dead smile, the action ramps up and Aragorn, a lone Ranger, goes to town on the Uruk Hai.

It is a small scene but if anyone thought Aragorn is a pussy this scene should have changed their mind. Rarely have i seen a more badass approach than this and it has shown that Aragorn has many sides and one of them is the awesome warrior.

"The Eagles! The Eagles are coming!"

I never expected that to be put in the film, so when I saw the little moth flying in front of Gandalf I knew what was coming and had a little fan-gasm.

And in RotK; The Charge Of The Rohirrim. These Men, willing to give their lives so others may life, charching of into the armies of Mordor....

"My friends, you bow to no one."
I cringed. An incredibly cheesy moment, but then again, there's more cheese in ROTK, then in all of Switzerland.

My favorite LOTR moments are "I will risk more light..." (Moria), and "That is no Orc horn!" (Helm's deep).

From one of the trailers of FOTR, when the Fellowship was first leaving Rivendale, when I saw how well all the characters matched my expectations, I felt like they might actually pull this off.

movie Return of the King: charge of the Rohirrim, even if it offends me as a nonsensical depiction of a realistic cavalry charge.

Book: face off of Gandalf and The Witch King at the gate of Minas Tirith. Always imagined the what if on how the fight would have gone. Too bad PJ fuxored it up. Kinda like the Balrog by making it to waaaay too big (though I otherwise like the design).
