Truth be told, I, too, wondered about the lack of fondness for Jack here when I began participating in this forum. I rather like his character. Same with Kate. Who would have thought she was so universally disliked by everyone?

^ I like Jack okay, but I really cannot stand Kate. And further, I put forth that people would probably like Jack alot more if it weren't for Kate because alot of Jack's scenes - especially those involving frustration and arguments are with her.

She butts into everything and pretends to be this moral authority - when given her past, she has no standing whatever when it comes to morality. None at all.

I don't like Kate, even though she's hot.

I hate Jack, and have always hated Jack.

I use to dislike Sawyer, but he's turned into a likable character.

Charlie is just plain irritating.

To me John Locke, Hurley, and Sayid are the show, with honorable mention going to Sun and Jin.

Argh, Kate is so annoying. She never does what people ask of her, which usually leads to someone getting captured or hurt. I agree that she also acts like she's morally superior sometimes, which is just ridiculous. I have liked her on occasion - usually when she is kept away from Jack and Sawyer; yet another reason to dislike her!

Jack has had a bit of a renaissance since his flashforwards started, for me at least. He's changed his views on the island, and has become more interesting since then, though his amazing plan in 'The Incident' had me back to d'oh-ing a lot. I disliked him as I didn't see him as a good leader - he makes silly decisions too often. And also, he seems like he's about to cry whenever he's mad or arguing with someone.

Yeah, Jack and Kate get on my nerves. I do well to enjoy a show that has them as a primary focus so often. The rest of the characters really make up for their shortfalls, I think.
