TOS, with the hand of William Ware Theiss (and others!), came up with so many iconic costume designs. What sticks out to your mind the best?

The Horta was fairly ingenious but TOS didn't have many non-humanoid species...

The Elan guards wore gold lamé (worthy of any Solid Gold dancer) combined with big orange PVC placements (worthy of any K-Mart kitchen decor section) in part to make not just an innovative design, but also the best looking shoulder pads that even the 1980s called up to get the tailoring and stitching patterns some 11 years early.

Indeed, the Dohlman of Elaas had a massively amazing outfit that pretty much wins an award in my book as well as doubling as an outfit in the Elder Scrolls Skyrim video game!

The androids' outfits in "I Mudd" came from shower curtains... at least for the women. The men just got bland sweatpants. Really tight ones too so I won't complain too much...

I could go on forever. What are some of your favorites?

The Tholian Web costumes were cool, especially considering the low 3rd season budget.

BTW, that's off-the-shelf from Western Costume, not original to the show. Just like Korob's robe in "Catspaw" can be seen on Gilligan's Island a year earlier.

The Dohlman of Elas and her retinue were called Elasians. Careful, or she'll throw a steak knife at you.

Khan's red action suit was cool.
I liked the Klingon uniforms quite a bit. I though the Capellans' costumes in FC were clever. I dug Jaris's suit in WIF.
The third season had a lot of standouts, including Deela, Odona, Droxine, and both of Vanna's outfits. Miranda's sensor web dress was also very cool.

I thought the costumes in Who Mourns For Adonais where great, both Carolyn Palamas' pink dress and Apollo's gold skirt.

Sorry JB, but no. Scotty failed to punch a hole in the force field, and there is no dialog to suggest that crew were standing by in spacesuits. In my opinion, the rescue crew would wear the face masks:

To think, they were only a year away from the personal force fields:

Another spacesuit re-use we know of was when Conrad Janis wore a "Tholian Web" helmet on Mork & Mindy, over a red shower curtain suit from "The Naked Time," complete with the sparkly red gloves and left-arm communicator. :) It looked like it was all original items.

Not a dress everyone is fit to wear. Reminds me of the skimpy Edo/TNG or Logan's Run outfits...

I’m glad we never found out if Apollo was wearing boxers, briefs or *gasp* just hanging loose.

Mork and Mindy had an odd, backhanded connection to Trek. In addition to Zap’s example above, Mork’s red Orkan uniform looked a lot like an update/recycling of Colonel Green’s uniform from The Savage Curtain. Also, Shatner appeared, very briefly, in a fourth season MM episode.

True. Robin Williams wore the actual original "Col. Green" jumpsuit, the blood-red one, in his debut as Mork on Happy Days. That episode was a backdoor pilot.

When Mork & Mindy went to series, they spent the money and had several Mork suits custom made, with tailoring and constructed shoulders, and in a lighter shade of red to be more comedy-friendly. :bolian:
