Favorite Command Duo?

Who is your personal favorite command duo?

If we're choosing favorites (and not who's the better pair), out of the choices, Picard/Riker is my pick. Riker was always a favorite because he knew when it was time to play and when it was time to work, also I'm a sucker for jazz. With Picard, there was always something to learn from him.

If the question was Who's the better pair, it would be Kirk/Spock. They can get anything done.

I came into this thread thinking Sisko/Worf would be my close 2nd with their diplomatic to tactical ranges but you didn't give the option. They should count as a command duo, at least on the defiant.

... My actual favorites because I think they WANTED EACH OTHER in bed:
Janeway/Chakotay
Archer/T'Pol
Agreed, with Archer/T'Pol at a distant 2nd.

Picard and Riker had a very professional relationship, it's true. I think the main reason for this is that Picard didn't allow himself to befriend his crew (I still contend he had some romantic feelings for Beverly, but he kept them well under wraps except in very unusual circumstances when he wasn't quite himself).

Besides, I'm still thinking that if interstellar spaceflight ever becomes a reality, the bridge will always be manned by either the captain or his/her XO, or in critical situations by both of them, but they'll certainly never be off duty at the same time. So there'd be no time to develop anything but a professional relationship.

To borrow a couple of lines from COTEOF that just about sum the relationship between Kirk and Spock

Spock: "Where would you estimate we belong, Miss Keeler?"
Keeler: "You? At his side, as if you've always been there and always will."

I like a line that happens a few moments later even more.

Spock: "I'm finished with the furnace."

Keeler: "Captain. Even when he doesn't say it, he does."

Sisko and Kira.

I think that what I loved about this pair is that it had a natural progression. Sisko starts out not really wanting his assignment and Kira doesn't think that Starfleet will actually be around that long so does not trust anyone.

Over time they develop a close working relationship and Kira comes to not only really trust Sisko as both a CO and a friend, but really comes to accept that he is in fact the Emmissary. In fact, she accepts it long before he does.

Their relationship was symbolic of the relationship between Bajor and the Federation in general.

Gotta go with Kirk and Spock.

I liked Picard/Riker, and Archer/T'Pol as well.

I didn't like Sisko or Kira that much. I also didn't like Chakotay, so they're out, even though I loved Janeway.
