What exactly *are* those things that OmniWeb does that make it worth the price? Would a casual websurfer need them?
Most likely not... but then again, I'm not the best person to ask (I hate when people use the same stuff as me).
As for what I use a lot... workspaces, site preferences, the HTML editor, and I like the implementation of tabs in
OmniWeb better than other browsers. I already brought up zoomed text fields for posting text and access to many of my favorite Services (Nisus Thesaurus, OmniDictionary, ICeCoffEE, Hot Service, WordService and WebGrabber).
But I'm sure you are making full use of Services on your system already... right? I mean why use a Mac if you aren't using it any better than if you were using either Windows or Linux systems?
Firefox on a Mac isn't any better than the Linux or Windows versions, and
Opera seems better on Windows than on Macs... if you are going to use Macs, make sure you are getting the most out of it. If you are going to use
Safari I would hope that you are taking advantage of what your system has to offer.
In
OmniWeb I would have written this post with the browser itself... and still had it's own window as if I was writing it in TextEdit. But because I post here using
Firefox, I composed this in TextEdit first, and then copied it over. Using other browsers feels like surfing with one hand tied behind my back... but casual users rarely get the most out of their applications anyways, so why would a browser be any different.
