Favorite Book Covers

There have been a lot of great Trek Lit covers over the years.
Avatar Bks. 1 & 2
Unity
Warpath
The Never-ending Sacrifice
Most of the Titan books
The Vanguard books
The Terok Nor trilogy
The Buried Age

Even some of the Starfleet Academy covers are favorites, such "Capture The Flag", "Atlantis Station" (unfortunately t he story doesn't live up to the cover art) and "Crossfire".

I don't know if this counts, but I love the color palette used for the Greater than the Sum cover. The spine, in particular, really stands out on my bookshelf and my eyes are always drawn to it.

any book that has art by Boris Vallejo. especially Time for Yesterday.

Which is actually a recycled Ships of the Line calendar image, but it's a gorgeous image, so I'm happy with that. (I just wish I'd known about it in time to write in some scene that resembled the cover.)

..., John Picacio (Terok Nor, Crucible, the first two Myriad Universes), ...

Oh, and Tim Bradstreet killed with the Disavowed cover......

I became a huge John Picacio fan because of his Trek covers. I was lucky enough to have met him and have him sign my copies of Day of Vipers and the McCoy Crucible book, which is signed by David R. George as well. :)

And the Disavowed cover is one of my favorites as well.

Another favorite cover of mine is From History's Shadow. It's a fun cover that really fits the mood of the book. And Foundations as well.

I need new glasses. I originally read the thread title as Favorite Back Covers" and clicked to see if any of the cover copy I'd written was listed. :)

I really the cover art for Corona by Greg Bear With Spock and his cousin on the cover. And Crisis on Centaraus that features Kirk , McCoy and his daughter Joanna McCoy.

As a kid, I can remember going into Walden Books or B.Dalton Books (remember those?) and seeing some of the covers for the first time.

I remember seeing titles like:

"Dreams of the Raven", "The Final Reflection", "How Much For Just the Planet?", "Uhura's Song", "Tears of the Singers" and all the early 80s Bantam covers, and all these covers would just BLOW MY MIND.

It jarred my imagination into warp drive, particularly the first 50 or so of the Pocket Books line along with the Bantam line.

And they gave off this mysteriousness, grace and yet many of those covers were infused with the TOS mystique.

Man, I'm surprised that I don't see more of the older titles listed. It seems like everyone is picking the more recent stuff.

For me, the older covers EXUDE a sense of awe.

I do not know the Original Covers, but the German ones from Cross Cult are really great :)
Destiny Trilogy, for example. :) i do have this 3 Covers as a Poster on my Wall.

The Original Double Helix Covers look awkward, more or less.
