Well, I always liked Captain Terrell from The Wrath of Khan and Maltz from The Search for Spock. And Dr. Nichols ("Not now, Madeleine!") from The Voyage Home has always been a favorite, as well.

Does Saavik count as a major character? I love Kirstie Alley's Saavik from TWOK. I also like Hawk from First Contact.

Yeah, a definition of "major character" here would be helpful; while Saavik isn't part of the TOS cast, she has a bigger role in the movie than the so-called "Gang of Four." And certainly each villain would constitute a major character.

I liked Capt. Terrell. I also liked that cute brunette cadet on the bridge in TWOK. Admiral Morrow in TSFS was pretty good. Not an idiot admiral, but a good source of conflict for Kirk.

Since the OP has mentioned Zephram Cochrane and Lily (two pretty central characters from First Contact) I can only assume that he meant all characters other than the TOS and TNG main cast members.

correct.allthe major players in the tv shows can be eliminated from the list.characters that appear in one film can be used.You'll have to forgive me for not being exact, i've been a member for a week. just getting the hang of being on-line and able to talk about my favourite subject with people who know what

While we're at it, I think Capt. Styles got a raw deal. I also liked the Asian officer on Grissom (navigator?) who had the best expression when Saavik reported that the Vulcan child was Capt. Spock.

Definitely Valeris, with Khan a close second. It's really hard not to have fun hating those two.

I think I'd have to go with Terrell and Hawk too.

For some reason, I kinda like the fact they brought Daniels back for Insurrection too - it gave the sense that the entire crew wasn't just made up of redshirts and senior officers.

It would've been nice to see the Trill bridge officer again too, I suppose.
