Fan Posters from TrekWeb contest

Found these over on TrekWeb where they are having a fan poster contest. Created by a poster calling himself Captain Smirk, the first is kind of a non-descript throwback to the TOS movie style posters, the second makes some assumptions about the film's plot, but both have the virtue of "taking back" the phrase "These are the voyages..."

I like the second one. Though I don't think they will go with something like it. I doubt that the general non-Trek audience would (want to) get the references. I think they will do a more stylized kind of poster with maybe just the Big E or something similar -- something that just everyone knows belongs to Trek.

But they are well done anyway. So ...

I like them both but find the second intriguing. I've always liked the idea of having the Guardian of Forever in a film or miniseries. The best Trek movies have been the ones in which the story was a continuation of a good episode, namely TWOK and FC. I have the audio-book of "Imzadi" which uses it as part of the plot and it's excellent.
